Orange developed the Crush 12 in 2015 to be the smallest full-format model in the series. Aimed at the home practice guitarist it makes no compromises in delivering an near professional sound palette! It's built for the guitar player who's got a serious attitude to their sound and practise! It's a 1 channel combo amp which is really set off by its capable 3 band EQ circuits. To cap it there's a very effective overdrive that rolls the tone through the gamut of genuine Orange crunch to beautiful crisp cleans.

The sound that this amp delivers comes from its solid-state design with the internal circuitry cleverly maximising the range of tones that this tiny box can generate from the raw guitar signal! Its single channel utilises an unusually high gain control. The Crush 12's 4 stage preamp delivers a good rendition of the famous dirty sound from the Rockerverb amplifier series: but here it's via solid state electronics.

The combination of gain and overdrive gives guitarists the grit for any rock tune. This Orange Crush's volume control and circuitry manage to maintain the sound levels at just the right level whatever the other controls are set at: a brilliant bit of electronics design that is great for the bedroom guitarist or the practise studio. On a clean setting the tone shines and sparkles at all volume settings and doesn't distort or clip the notes. The overdrive cuts the fabric of even the thickest sonic textures while your lead playing will take off when you start playing with the "Crushing" sustain - that goes on and on!

The Crush 12 gets by with a single channel, thanks to its 3-band EQ. This feature gives guitarists a much greater freedom to experiment with their sound than you'd normally expect on a small amplifier and its implementation on the Crush 12 is more effective than most. The sound of the Crush 12’s electronic wizardry is brought to life by a sweet sounding 6 inch "Voice of the World" speaker that's perfectly matched to the signal it receives. Being a home orientated practice amp, Orange have developed their CabSim technology so that when you plug a decent pair of headphones into the 1/4″ headphone/line output; they will "smack" you straight in the ears with almost live sounding tones: even at the lowest volumes.

The Crush 12 panel is simplicity itself, with its mono guitar input and control knobs for volume, gain, overdrive and 3-band EQ. Everything is clearly explained by Orange's now iconic "hieroglyphics". The package is finished off with the brand defining Orange basketweave vinyl and the, now classic, ‘picture frame’ edging: all fronted by Orange's branded woven speaker cloth.

The Orange Crush 12 is a surprisingly lightweight but powerful box thanks to its fantastic solid state circuitry. Delivering 12 watts of beautifully modulated sounds, it's probably one of the most effective practice amps around.
